2024: a record year for Mitsubishi in Canada
The story of Mitsubishi's Canadian division is an incredible one. Established in the early 2000s, it has gone through difficult times, but has always bounced back stronger than ever. Today, it is a...

Mitsubishi is a brand that offers a small volume of vehicles, but things are set to change. We have already mentioned the "Momentum 2030" plan, which will see the arrival of a new model per year between 2026 and 2030, including two completely new products, operating within segments where the company is not currently active.
This will of course boost sales, and considering that they are already increasing, things are very positive when we look at the long term.
If we are so positive, it is because we realize that the 2024 sales results so far are very interesting.
Let's take the time to analyze some figures to understand.
Note that at the time of writing, we know the results for the first six months of the year in the United States, but only for the first three months in Canada. However, some numbers will blow your mind.
First, overall, let's note that on the American side, there was a nice progression of the entire range. During the first six months of the year, 51,130 vehicles were sold, an increase of 12.3% compared to the 45,540 sales in the first half of 2023.
In Canada alone, during the first three months of 2024, 8,921 vehicles were sold, a jump of almost 20% compared to 2023. It's simple, Mitsubishi had its best first quarter since it was established in the country in 2002.
On the American side, the best-selling vehicle was the Outlander SUV, with 24,491 regular units and 2,896 PHEV units. This is stable compared to 2023. However, what is incredible is to compare with the Canadian figures. In our country, in just three months, it should be remembered, we sold 2,820 regular Outlanders, then 2,690 PHEV variants. In other words, in just three months here, we sold almost the same number of Outlander PHEVs as the American division did in six months.
In Canada, sales are still about 50/50 for the versions of this model.
Otherwise, on the American side, the Mirage made a spectacular leap, seeing its sales go from 5,316 to 9,862 units, while the Eclipse Cross saw its sales climb from 4,333 to 5,988.
Let's just say that we're heading towards a record year. And let's congratulate the entire Mitsubishi dealer network, because the results on this side of the border are fantastic. In 2023 alone, 35,708 vehicles were sold in our country, compared to 45,540 in the entire United States.
There is something to be proud of.

Since its renewal, the Chevrolet Trax has earned a number of industry accolades. And it's fully deserved; General Motors has done a good job here. But is this new, more modern model a better buy...
